The video shows interesting information about this particular weapon.
The AR 70/223 is a Cold War assault rifle of Italian origin. It is the result of the SG-530 prototype developed jointly by Beretta and SIG. At the time of production, it was one of the first rifles to use the 5.56x45mm bullet after it was used in the US M16. The AR 70/223 was produced in limited numbers, but paved the way for the more successful AR 70/90.
Design
The AR 70/223 is very similar to the SG-530 prototype. The AR 70/223 has a conventional assault rifle layout. The stock, forearm and pistol grip are made of plastic and the rest of the weapon of metal. The AR 70/223 uses a forward-locking valve system requiring only a few parts to be made of high-grade steel.
User
The AR 70/223 had limited use by the Italian armed forces. It was exported to several countries, but had a limited service life due to its limited robustness.
Deactivated in 2024. No moving parts except the stock, see photo. The gun mount, fire selector; safe, single shot and full auto. The folding visor and an additional visor for 3 other distances.
