Description
Herewith we offer a rare original made in former Rhodesia LDP ( RHUZI ) submachine gun in EU DECO.
The LDP is a semi-automatic submachine gun in 9 mm para ( 9 x 19 ) with folding shoulder stock what was developed in the mid-1970s in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) by gun designer Alex Du Plessis.
It was originally produced by the Rhodesian company Lacoste Engineering Pty. The name LDP stands for "Land Defense Pistol" or for "Lacoste - Du Plessis".
The weapon was intended as a personal defence weapon for Rhodesian civilians during the period of the Rhodesian War.
When the war was over, production of the LDP submachine gun was moved to the South African republic, where it was made by Kommando Arms Manufacturing Corporation as "Kommando LDP". Because of its appearance and origin, LDP was sometimes called "Rhuzi" (Rhosian Uzi).
This defused weapon is one of the first weapons made in former Rhodesia. This can be seen from the trigger guard, which was only used on the first examples, and from the weapon number ( 2232 ).
The basis for this design was the Czechoslovak SA.23 submachine gun, combined with an existing cartridge magazine from the Uzi. The pistol grip, trigger housing and handguard is made of polymer.
The video will give you more information about this unique weapon.
This Uzi comes with a 2024 EU DECO certificate and has no moving parts. Anyone aged 18 and above may own this weapon.
