Description
This unequipped, original CETME L assault rifle comes with an EU DECO certificate and is available to anyone aged 18 and above.
You don't often come across this type of weapon as demilitarised/unmobilised. It has been recently defused. Everything is fixed so it meets the strict EU DECO requirements.
The video shows interesting information about this weapon.
The CETME design group was founded in Spain and was staffed by many ex Mauser employees such as Dr Ludwig Vorgrimler, among others, who brought their research and designs with them. They later developed and adopted the CETME C, better known to American shooters and collectors under the German licence designation: the G3 / HK91 in 7.62x51 / .308.
In the 1970s, due to joining NATO, governments faced the transition to the 5.56 mm ammunition.
Therefore, Spain and CETME began seriously developing a 5.56 rifle for their army. The result was the roll lock rifle adopted by an army, and the first and only one designed specifically for the 5.56/.223 from the ground up, the CETME L.
Unlike its German cousin the HK33, it was not a scaled-down version of the 7.62 receiver. A totally new design, the CETME L was thinner and had a smaller form factor. The CETME L served with Spanish troops in the 1980s and 1990s, and was used during their service with Coalition Forces during Operation Desert Storm. To this day, the CETME L is still used with Spanish Reserve and Police units.
