Description
The Mauser C69, also known as the broom handle ( broomhandle ) was, how could it be otherwise, first put into production in Germany in 1869. It was developed by the Mauser brothers in the years before.
This specimen has a rarely seen 5.5-inch barrel and is chambered in 7.62 x 25 Tokarev.
It has a fixed internal magazine, into which 10 rounds could be loaded fairly quickly via a loading strip, which could also theoretically be done now because the bolt is movable. The safety and trigger are also movable. From the model and ammunition, it can be deduced that this must have been one of the first Mauser C 69 pistols.
This weapon is very neatly deactivated. As you may know, the barrel has to be milled open over a prescribed length. This has obviously been done here, but they have very skilfully resealed the "wound" with synthetic resin, so that no large gaping hole can be seen.
