Description

This formerly fully and semi-automatic shooting weapon will never be able to fire another shot. It has been deactivated according to the latest deactivation eu deco rules. The grip safety is still movable. The fire selector, shell ejector and stock are movable.

The Vigneron submachine gun is of Belgian origin from the early Cold War. It was developed by Belgian army colonel Georges Vigneron to equip the Belgian army after World War II
The Vigneron submachine gun is a blowback-operated weapon that fires from an open bolt position. The design incorporates several elements of earlier submachine guns, the most notable being the tubular receiver, hinged dust cap and threaded rod retractable stock of the M3 Grease Gun. The magazine and magazine housing are based on the MP40. The ribbed barrel and ported muzzle appear to be derived from the M1928 Thompson submachine gun.

The Vigneron weapon fires 9x19mm Parabellum ammunition from a magazine for 32 rounds. It is a select-fire weapon with the ability for semi-automatic fire and fully automatic fire, which can present about 620 shots per minute.
The Vigneron was developed for use by the Belgian army. These weapons were frequently used in the conflicts in Congo. Portugal also adopted the Vigneron and several batches were sold to African countries. In Belgian service, the Vigneron was replaced by the FNC assault rifle in the 1980s and 1990s.
